It has now eliminated the terms “custody” and “visitation.” Parties were fighting and litigating over the term “custody,” so the legislature has eliminated that term altogether. Now there are “parenting plans”, so that the parties can co-parent together. It’s important to go to a specialist in the field because they’re up on their recent case law; they’ve attended extensive seminars; they are in court every day arguing these cases to the judge; they have extensive trial experience. I bring that to the table. I’ve been doing this for 25 years. I’ve been board certified since 1993. Not many attorneys in the state of Florida are board certified in marital and family law, so that’s a special thing that I bring to the table.
